June’s Theme is “Stormy Weather Ahead”!

I received the June box to review, and I couldn’t wait to open it!  I am a huge Fantasy/Sci-Fi fan, so Shelflove Crate is perfect for me.

Upon opening the box, I was happy to see how carefully everything was wrapped!  The card on the top thanks subscribers for subscribing, and I thought that that was a sweet touch.

Here is a picture of the thank you card and an exclusive postcard!  The postcard is a Blue Tornado postcard by Tithi Luadthong.  The artwork is gorgeous!

An item list was also included to tell you more about each item in the box!

The next item is a pair of storm socks!  These go perfectly with the theme, and they are so cute.  I am a huge sock fanatic, so I can’t wait to add these to my growing collection.  The socks are from Happy Socks.

The next item is a bag of Jasmine Green Tea in cloud shaped tea bags!  This tea is so cute, and I am amazed by how well it goes with the theme.  Jasmine Green Tea is my favorite tea of all time, so I can’t wait to try this!  The tea is from Tea Heritage.

Here is a look at these gorgeous handmade tea bags!  They are the cutest things I have ever seen.

The next item is a beautiful candle by A Court of Candles!  This candle is an exclusive and the scent is called “Stormhunter”.  The candle was made for the box to go with the month’s book!  I think that is so cool.

This “It’s Raining Cats and Dogs” bookmark was also included!  These magnetic bookmarks are very popular with book boxes, but this has to be one of my favorites that I have received.  This bookmark is from Craftedvan, and it brings a cute hint to this month’s theme!

The next item is an exclusive poster by @missphi on Instagram!  The quote is from the novel Red Queen, and it reflects the villain, Maven.  I love the beautiful artwork on the poster, and I have already added the poster to my book corner!

And now for the main attraction!  This month’s book choice is Roar by Cora Carmack.  The book came with an author letter, various bookmarks, and it is signed!  Usually, in book boxes, I just receive signed bookplates, but the signed book is an excellent touch.

Here is the synopsis:

In a land ruled and shaped by violent magical storms, power lies with those who control them.

Aurora Pavan comes from one of the oldest Stormling families in existence. Long ago, the ungifted pledged fealty and service to her family in exchange for safe haven, and a kingdom was carved out from the wildlands and sustained by magic capable of repelling the world’s deadliest foes. As the sole heir of Pavan, Aurora’s been groomed to be the perfect queen. She’s intelligent and brave and honorable. But she’s yet to show any trace of the magic she’ll need to protect her people.

To keep her secret and save her crown, Aurora’s mother arranges for her to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom. At first, the prince seems like the perfect solution to all her problems. He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe. But the more secrets Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her. When she dons a disguise and sneaks out of the palace one night to spy on him, she stumbles upon a black market dealing in the very thing she lacks—storm magic. And the people selling it? They’re not Stormlings. They’re storm hunters.

Legend says that her ancestors first gained their magic by facing a storm and stealing part of its essence. And when a handsome young storm hunter reveals he was born without magic, but possesses it now, Aurora realizes there’s a third option for her future besides ruin or marriage.
She might not have magic now, but she can steal it if she’s brave enough.

Challenge a tempest. Survive it. And you become its master.

This bonus author swag was also included!  It comes with a card describing the different Stormhearts as well as a pendant featuring one of them.  I received “Skyfire” and it says that “Skyfire” is impulsive, captivating, energetic, and independent.

Final Thought: I am amazed by everything that was included in June’s Shelflove Crate!  The extras that came with the book are phenomenal, and each various item went with the stormy weather theme so well.  All of the exclusive items also made the box one of a kind, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Shelflove Crate is probably one of my favorite book boxes that I have received, and I can’t wait to see what they do next month!
